This is the 27th Hexagram of the ancient iChing, this symbol represents a mouth and it’s name is nourishment. Nourishment of only ourselves is selfishness, nourishment of ourselves and each other is generosity… and Generosity Heals the community. The community is our shared body.

When we are motivated by selfishness, the 27th Hexagram contains shock (thunder) underneath stress (the mountain). When we are generous we contribute to awakening and calm stillness like the eye inside a hurricane.

David is an acupuncturist and energy medicine practitioner with 40 years of experience. A few years back, I named David’s business Eye of the Needle Energy Medicine not just because he uses needles when he treats people but because I always saw him getting people through impossibly tight spots using acupuncture and his energy medicine skills.

We’re now living in a time of shock and change. We’re all in a tight spot and we’re all in this together so it’s a natural extension of personal generosity to contribute to the larger community.

That’s how we get each other through the Eye of the Needle, we support each other.

The world has changed and our new non-profit, Eye of the Needle Holistic Living, was born of these times.
