Solar Fiji has been growing steadily as a result of the reliability of its products for off-grid areas in the country.
Company director Joe Baravi said they had recorded an increase in the demand for solar power.
“Yes, there has been an increasing demand of solar power for off-grid and grid-tied commercial and residential clients.
“Victron Energy is a robust (piece of) equipment that is well suited for our harsh environment and we are always prepared to bring about community awareness on the benefits of renewable energy,” he said.
Mr Baravi said Solar Fiji together with Waiea Water based in Honolulu, supplied a fresh drinking water system to Mau District School in Namosi recently.
According to Mr Baravi, Solar Fiji engineered, supplied and installed an 8.88kWp Jinko Solar system for the school while Waiea Water used the solar system to power 5000 litre per day of fresh drinking water.
He said they had received an inquiry from the donor family and the company that provided the machine.
“The actual solar installation took approximately two weeks to complete, but took longer because of freight and Customs clearance.”
Mr Baravi said they were glad to have partnered to work on the project because its biggest benefit was consistent water supply for the school and the community.
“There will not be any further disruption of classes for students and the community and they now have access to clean drinking water.”
