Well… we did it!!! David and I are now officially a 501 (c)3 non-profit, Eye of the Needle Holistic Living Inc, supporting Education, Sustainability and Cultural Programs on Maui.

We think most people can agree that access to clean water is fundamental to local sovereignty and resilience. The recent firestorms in Lahaina and Kula aggravated long-standing water rights issues by poisoning and destroying the public water infrastructures.

The fires created opportunities to support water and housing sovereignty. They motivated us to launch our non-profit Eye of the Needle Holistic Living and we were inspired to contribute something meaningful to the recovery and restoration effort. After a lot of paperwork, Eye of the Needle Holistic Living is an official Charitable Organization in the State of Hawaii and can accept donations and apply for grants!

If you don’t know about AWG’s (atmospheric water generators) they work basically like a de-humidifier, but so much more. They filter any toxins and pollutants out of the moist air first, then condense the moisture, sterilize it with UV light and it goes through a series of carbon and reverse osmosis filters before finally being run through a final filter to restore essential minerals and create a slightly alkaline PH. Then it’s stored and periodically recirculated through a UV light to maintain purity in a tank for dispensing.

Please click the link below if you are moved to help us bring an inexhaustible source of fresh water to the people who need it the most as they reclaim their land and rebuild their homes. Your donations are tax-deductible. If it is not right for you to donate at this time, please participate by passing this email on to any of your friends and family you feel might be inspired by the opportunity to directly contribute to the recovery of local sustainable infrastructure on Maui!
